Welcome to Khaotica! The alliance where as a team we help each other and grow together.
Please remember a few simple rules:
-Mind yourself if you chat in World Chat.
-Respect your team.
-Please be active in Alliance Chat. This is what makes us thrive.
-And PLEASE! Keep any and all team intel inside the team, and that even includes these guides! This also covers things like army sizes, timezones, or any details that a potential enemy could use against us.
PROTECT YOURSELF
Never leave your troops out in your town. Send them out to hunt fast after you're done with activites! Click on any empty oasis and select Hunt. People are CONSTANTLY scanning the map looking for places to hit and steal your prestige points. Protect them by hunting troops immediately when they come back to your town. This includes remembering to callback troops from oasis - they CAN and WILL kill them there to take points as well.If you don't call your troops out of hunt before 10 days, their hunt will automatically be over in 10 days and they will come home!
Don't make your password the same as your username, or anything else that's super obvious. It makes your account very easy to hack!
2 accounts on 1 server is NOT allowed, on a single device. Having a second account on another server IS allowed on the same device. At lvl 10 when you do the task to create a new account it will typically be on a different server so this is ok.
Do NOT create one. It is not of benefit to the alliance, and would only potentially help our enemies. What it does is print a map of all alliance members' cities and oasises highlighted. It will mail out a link to all alliance members upon creation. If you want to see what one looks like, CLICK HERE.
And this is the email that the entire alliance gets.
You should keep your inbox cleaned so you don't lose important emails. When you are done with hunt, scout, trade, and system emails, swipe your finger from left to right to delete the message. Your inbox only holds 30 messages so it's easy for important communication to get lost fast!
Another way you can retain good knowledge is to copy the contents of emails like guides, and paste them into your Notes app or etc. You could also printscreen to capture the image. Just try not to loose the good stuff you need, and this could include war reports with valuable intel on enemy army numbers, etc. Other junk is just clutter that can make you miss important Alliance emails, too. :( And we don't want that, because we like staying in touch with our members.
PRESTIGE
In order to gain rank you need to gain prestige. This is done quickly by:
1- Building troops
2- Winning prestige in battles
3- Continuously upgrading your cities (remember VIP gives you an extra slot per town)
The troops you select for pure prestige gain do matter:
Archers yield the most prestige gain per unit trained, cavalry then infantry and lastly catapults. But of course balancing prestige gain against battle readiness is important.
Training troops for prestige points: Go farm a full warehouse of resources and train max troops. After done, you may find that you have more troops than you can feed. It's okay - just send them to a fort to kill them. You won't lose any prestige, and you've gained free prestige points just for training them! Easy points.
---------------------------------
Why didn't I get prestige points for killing another player's army? One of 2 reasons:- Your losses outweigh your gains
- When you attack someone lower than your level, they get more PP for every one of your troops they kill, and you get less PP for every one of theirs.
OASISES
Capturing an oasis will provide you with additional resources. In order to support a large army this will help you bring in enough crop to sustain them. Or it helps you collect crop to donate to the alliance. Or they can supplement you if you need other resources for building, instead. See separate Oasis guide for how much troops to take an Oasis with.
- Oasises degrade every day, once you take them. So be sure to refresh them regularly by resigning and taking a new one of max level you're able to obtain! Or if you can resign it before it drops, you can just re-capture the same one. It's also wise to move your oasis far enough away from your town that it's not easy for an enemy to find. If they want the could remove you from them to try and starve out your army.- What's this about a level 10 oasis? Is there a such thing? Yes, there is! It's the product of a perfectly timed occupied and resign Crop oasis.
Why? There's an accomplishment for having 2 lvl 10's at once! And accomplishment points are required for PvP, if that interests you.... Otherwise, it's just cool..... In addition to prestige there's also an accomplishment scoreboard under Ranks.
How? TAKE an oasis and then RESIGN it and wait the number of hours listed below. Then it should jump to a level 10 oasis. This can only happen to a Crop oasis!
Keep in mind this is ONLY A CHANCE!
A level 1 oasis will be level 10 in 3 days
A level 2 oasis will be level 10 in 6 days
A level 3 oasis will be level 10 in 9 days
A level 4 oasis will be level 10 in 2 days
A level 5 oasis will be level 10 in 5 days
A level 6 oasis will be level 10 in 8 days
A level 7 oasis will be level 10 in 1 day
A level 8 oasis will be level 10 in 4 days
A level 9 oasis will be level 10 in 7 days
TRAINING TROOPS
It is of utmost importance that you get the troops out of your city ASAP whenever they are finished being created in your barracks, or when you call them back from taking an oasis, or attacking a person or a fort.
Tip: Set the timer in your clock app on your iPhone/iPad for when they're done so you can go hunt them promptly. NEVER train troops or start an attack without setting the timer. Don't assume you will just remember, because we all know it happens, you get busy with things and miss it sometimes, and the action ends in disaster because you didn't command your army -- or someone finds your army out and kills the freshly made troops. If you do it's ok, we've all done it, but this is a great way you can try to prevent it! :)
People like to ask what the best setup to build is... each one has a big advantage and disadvantage:
-Cats are powerful, but slow. They have a 50% disadvantage against cavalry. -Archers are fast and cheap with range, but aren't powerful and are very frail. If an archer oversteps a catapult or turret's range advantage on them (where the archer can now hit them), the archer will attack first. This makes them HIGHLY useful against turrets, in large numbers of course. Turrets aren't going to be highly used in pvp except by paying customers.
-Cavs have tons of stats: highest health, highest defense, highest speed, second highest attack. However, if ranged units can delay your movement enough to move forward a few, they can retreat right before impact and the cavs won't be able to hit them until the back row because of their horrible range.
-Infantry are used for hunting, blocking for ranged, and running into traps.
Even though traps do speed damage, cavalry are worth 4 while infantry only 1, you'll lose double the prestige using cav to knockout traps. Against lower levels, this will soak up a ton of your prestige gain. The lower their level, the more likely you should bring infantry for traps. If they're a higher level and you're not sure if they're offline, cavs are better if you're using cav army. If you're using a cat army, use infantry only for traps.
Party's advice: Start off with an army of cats and cavs. You can also use a little inf as meatshield if you need them. Cavs are very fast and strong. Cats plus cavs make the perfect army.
If you want to have a massive overwhelming army (as somebody like Oredi has!) aim for 40k cats, 40k cavs, 40k inf, plus some archers. Sometimes maybe more cavs.
Catapults needed to win
1 - 215
2 - 428
2 - 428
3 - 855
4 - 1410
5 - 2170
6 - 3782
7 - 6255
8 - 8708
9 - 14115
10 - 19830
Sequence to attack (Pause your troops all the way, except if only cats left, then you can advance them if desired)
1. Cav (they should all die, else round 2 is also cav)
2. Inf (archers are not yet in range)
3. Archers
4. Inf/Cats (depending on shooting tech. Besides, if you target cats and they are not in range, it will automatically attack Inf)
1. Cav (they should all die, else round 2 is also cav)
2. Inf (archers are not yet in range)
3. Archers
4. Inf/Cats (depending on shooting tech. Besides, if you target cats and they are not in range, it will automatically attack Inf)
5. Inf (if there are no cats left)
1 - 2505
2 - 4910
3 - 9220
4 - 16000
5 - 24500
6 - 42900
7 - 71100
8 - 98000
9 - 160000
10 - 221000
When hitting with cavs, just turn them loose and let them go un-commanded.TRAPS OR TURRETS?
-Traps do speed damage and health/defense of opponent is irrelevant. Traps have 50 range at level 1 and get 10 range per level.
-Turrets have 600 range at level 1. They ARE affected by every stat but fortune and all battle techs. Their see is lower than a basic cat. They get 50 range per added level. Their base health and attack are the same. Defense starts at 200. Not sure about the rest.
Traps' attacks are based on your attack bonus, so if you use traps, you'll kill more enemies with more attack. Lvl 1-8 turrets will bee wiped against cats, lvl 9-10 will kill cats.
HUNTING
How long should I hunt my troops?
FEEDING TROOPS
You can see how much each troop type costs to feed by clicking on Barracks and click Train to look at any troop type's stats. Crop consumption for Infantry is 1, for example. When you press the top right corner of screen you can see each town's Resource availability. The current crop output rate is shown here. If your town is at 1000, then you could put 1000 inf in this town without going into negative. However if you build 2000 inf then you will soon be at -1000 crop consumption. Your options are to either keep adding crop to your warehouse or find another way.
Other ways include max out your Crop tech, or claim crop oasis.
Just remember that each oasis degrades one level per day after claimed, so you must reclaim a new one each day to maintain your output rate.
If you run out of surplus crops in your town your troops will die! If you want to keep surplus food on hand, in case you can't get to your oasis in time before the warehouse becomes 0, you can put it on the market for maximum price, then fill your town warehouse back up. Now you have surplus crop that can't be stolen if someone attacks you. You can go to the market whenever you're running low and cancel the trade to put it back in the town you marketed it out from. Hint - use a number code system on the amount of crop to know which town you sell from (like end in 100 for town 1, 200 for 2, etc)
Please note it takes up people resource to put stuff on the market so don't max yourself out if you need the people resource to do other tasks right away. :)
Also please note you are limited to 10 listings in the market total at any time so keep this in mind when using the "secret warehouse."
SELLING GOODS
Selling your surplus stock is a good way to make some extra money. The best (cheapest) price for buying goods at varies on every server so the price you can sell at does too. You need to check the market each time. Go to marketplace and tap the icon for each type to refresh the list.
Alliance members usually sell at lowest 0.01 to each other to help them out. If you're lucky you can catch some goods at the cheapest price and resell them at a higher price right away, or later when prices go up more. Sometimes you can grab a large lot at 0.02 or 0.03 and break it down into smaller lots for even just 0.04 or 0.05 and make a decent profit in no time. Buy low, sell high - it's simple economics! ;)
Stone sometimes hits 0.01 for a while but often rides at 0.02 so it's a riskier commodity to trade in some days.
BUYING RESOURCES
Sometimes you can find 0.01 goods others are selling if you refresh the market a lot. If not you can ask your alliance to help you out. When they are ready to sell you something and tell you to GO, head to the market quickly and refresh the icon for it by clicking on it (like iron or wood) repeatedly until you see the lowest price. Buy fast, others are out there looking too! Check your trade report email to be sure you got it.
If you're going to sell stuff to your team mate, tell them when to go. Give them just a sec to get there before you list the item.
OTHER WAYS TO GET MONEY?
Craxy let us know of one way he gets great money and treasure in game. Anytime he buys 200 coins, he will buy 10-15 silver boxes and open them all. Gems, medals, scepters, crowns, and extra money for enhancements too.
WAR TACTICS
A good strategy is not to go into World Chat and talk about where you live. This tips off enemies as to when you sleep, so they know when you're vulnerable. Sometimes you can learn some good knowledge just from listening. Turn on WC and watch and listen if you're not doing anything else. But don't sit around staring at chat and forget about an attack you have pending! (Which you won't if you use that timer as advised in previous lesson! ;-)
How to get somebody back. Let's say an alliance member (Aren) is being attacked by an army they can't take on. So you know the army size that will be returning to their city once the battle is done. Alliance member (we'll say Belso) wants in on the action! So Belso can warp his sub with troops next to the enemy's location they're attacking from (which Aren will have to tell Belso). Belso tests how long it takes him to send all his troups by attacking a ha_ town next to the enemy. Aren tells Belso how long it is til battle is done. Belso knows it's time to launch his troops to the enemy town and catch the troops upon their arrival when the gap is right.
It's always smart to first send a inf or cav (depending on march time to your target) to scout for Traps and Turrets and their levels, if any, before you attack a target. Now regarding Turret while in battle, click on one of your troops and look at field length.. This will help you figure out turret levels:
Turret Lvl - field length
Lvl 1 - 900
Lvl 2 - 950
Lvl 3 - 1000
Lvl 4 - 1050
Lvl 5 - 1100
Lvl 6 - 1150
Lvl 7 - 1200
Lvl 8 - 1250
Lvl 9 - 1300
Lvl 10 - 1350
Warp Attacks & Strategy
It requires good scouting. If you find something good, then follow your nose to get the prestige! Warp and attack, then warp away.
You can't warp if there's a counterattack. All your city progress needs to be done, and no attack/hunting standing on you.
It's all in the timing.
SUB CITIES
When you're ready for an additional city branch, you could take someone else's sub instead of starting over from scratch. But you'll need help. Take a sub from someone who appears inactive, generally.
You can tell if it's their sub because it has an orange flag in the bottom right corner on its icon on your map. You can't take someone else's main city.
To take a city, you have to reduce its loyalty to 0. Ten attacks all within 1 hour. You can only attack a player (city; oasis or forts don't count) 5 times in a day. So you will need someone else to attack it 5 times plus your five. Make sure yours is the last and make sure you have an available slot and you will take over ownership including all its upgrades.
If you're not sure they're inactive, or if you just want to, you can use coins to move the city. (Warping it to another location)
You can stack attacks if they are over 10 minutes to your destination in order to shorten the time.
Let's say attack 1 takes 12 minutes. You can send a 2nd attack right away and it will only add 10 minutes. They will stack up to 27 minutes.
This is not beneficial for attacks only 2 minutes away (would take 10 instead of just waiting 2 minutes to send the next).
ATTACKS
Even if you're using the timer, you want to check back in your towns from time to time to see if you're getting attacked. I always look at email when I first log in to be sure I wasn't hit overnight. While you're logged in you have to click on Actions to see if any hidden attacks are incoming. If they are look at where they're going to. It could be an attack to any town, oasis, or fort you have. Check there to be sure you don't have troops out. If you do, call back or hunt immediately BEFORE the attack begins so you won't lose prestige points!
If you are in a battle such as -- you got there and they had traps/turrets you didn't want to deal with, or you attacked the wrong town, or whatever reason you change your mind -- there's a way to let the battle simply end. Put all your troops on pause and after 20 rounds the battle will automatically end. You won't lose any prestige for "losing" an attack this way (assuming no troops lost).
FORTS
Along with city branches and oasises, you get the option of occupying forts too. But at low levels, unless for strategic purpose, it's pointless to take the fort by occupying it. What you should do instead is farm it for resources. See any basic guide copy for the minimum number of catapults needed to succeed (note with tech upgrades, you could need less). You will also need to take in some infantry or something to carry out the goods when the battle is done. If you don't have enough you can make multiple trips but be careful not to strike 3 times else you'll occupy the fort. If you do so and then release it, it will reset and be full of traps/turrets.
UPGRADES
Putting nickel and dime points in attack won't help you much. You only get a .5% bonus per point. Speed is 1%. so for each point, cavalry get 3 points of speed.
Everything goes by speed, but not necessarily the player's speed. A catapult will NEVER attack before a cavalry.
Hidden has a 3% chance of occurring per lv and is NOT affected by fortune.
Here is the % chance that hidden attack will go off for each level you have in hidden attack:
Lvl 1. 3%
Lvl 2. 6%
Lvl 3. 9%
Lvl 4. 12%
Lvl 5. 15%
Lvl 6. 18%
Lvl 7. 21%
Lvl 8. 24%
Lvl 9. 27%
Lvl 10. 30%
MISC
After 1 hour, chat history gets cleared.
