Curious about PVP? Preparing for the next one?

PVP

So, you need 120 achievement points in order to participate in PVP. How do you check your score?

There are two ways. One, go to Rank. On the Server Achv. button that comes up, look at the bottom. Your score is beside your rank.  Like this
Arenwen's achievement ranking: 398 [170]
170 is my actual achievement score.

Go to General; Management; Game Center; Achievement.
Now you can see all the ones you've earned, your score at the top, plus your progress towards some ongoing goals. And, you can look here to see which others you might want to work towards, too.

You don't have to spend a single dollar in order to win at least a crown beside your name! It will only last until the next PVP is over.  It can be very time consuming but also fun. One of the achievements is to be in 5 PVPs, too.

If you want to join one, you don't have long to get into the server before it fills up. They only allow a limited number of players to join each round. So when the announcement email comes, you have to be on.

To get into the login, launch the game. Click on My Account. Click on PVP start. If registration is open, you will get in, if your achievement score is high enough.
If you were already in the game, you may have to (on iPhone) close the app, double-tap the home button, then minus it off the running-applications bar at the bottom. Then launch the app again to get the logon options.

Sneaky tips for easy prestige

“The stealth bomber”
Don’t capture level 9 crop oasis that are very near to your town.  Instead, scout them and keep the report.  Wait a while and look at them again later. Once someone captures them, hopefully they will forget troops. Keep an eye on the spots and sooner or later this will give you some easy kills.

“Obvious food means obvious troops!”
Also remember, if folks have crop oasis, it means they’re active and have army. So notice who has crop oasis near you and scout their towns. Keep an eye on them. Eventually hopefully you can catch their troops out and have a good battle.

D) (public copy)

I can't really give you a guide on how to be a "pro" player. It's a thing that requires building your way up to it. Everything you learn along the way is what creates a pro. But I can tell you a few things to start paying attention to, to help you get there.

Anyone really needs to know this, not just pro level players, but some people don't really focus on this until somewhere during their advanced stage and forward.  The distance of the battlefield, and the distance that troops move upon the field, and the distance which ranged targets can shoot, are what make the battle happen. Having a good grasp of what's going on can change a loss to a win, and can make any win even greater due to proper tactical use of troops.

TROOP MOVEMENT
Understand what happens with the troops on the battlefield.
(I can't post this section outside the alliance because I didn't write it!
Just remember that troops and players move according to their speed: Cavs, then inf, then arch, then cats.
Please continue below:)

DAMAGE
What determines damage done to your opponent by your troops?
Speed - the order of who hits what first, (190 is max possible)
Attack,
Lucky doubles.
--------------

When sizing up the fight, you must consider both the length of the fighting field, and the shooting/attacking range of your fighters versus theirs... not to mention any turrets a defender may have, if you're the attacker. So you'll want to know some facts before diving in head first!

So much on this game is based off who gets 1st strike. The determining values for this are:
Range - Speed - Defender Advantage

If you out range your opponent you get 1st strike

If you have more speed and the same range you get 1st strike

If you and your opponent have same range and speed the defender gets 1st strike

But how can you tell what your opponents range is?
FIELD RANGE

The field length is determined by range. Add 300 to whatever unit has the longest range (normally cats but can be turrets or archers also), and that is the field length. So, for an easy formula:
battlefield length = unit with the highest range on the field + 300

After a battle is initiated, you can click on any one of your troop types to see the effective field length.
People use battlefield length to determine how far they can move before being hit. Then they calculate their own range, and speed. So if your speed is 149, you can move 2 times before being hit (because there is a distance of 300 before coming into range.) After that, range plays a big part in who loses the most.
Use this example.
A catapult's range is only 800 in the fight. Add the additional 300 points to calculate the field length. So here, the field length is 1100.
so if your turrets are 1350 range.... then the turrets still have the farther range.  So once you move your cats, the turrets have you before you have them.
Now, you know how to calculate your range.

SHOOTING RANGE

To determine shooting distance, take the distance of the field then subtract 300.  Level ten tech shooting with catapults will give you a 1260 field length, -300 means the cats can shoot 960, and lvl 10 turrets can shoot 1050.
1360 is the max field length, and only happens when level 10 turrets are present. 1260 is the field length when max tech cats have the longest range on the field.
Now use these tables to guide you.
Catapults:
Shooting range   Level
1100                 0
1116                 1
1132                 2
1148                 3
1164                 4
1180                 5
1196                 6
1212                 7
1228                 8
1244                 9
1260                 10

Turrets:
1300                 Lvl 9 turrets
1350                 Lvl 10 turrets

Crashing

Need some tips to help keep your game from crashing?  Here are a few.

First, be sure to reboot your phone once in a while. Once a week at least.  Just like your computer.
Next, it's always best if you keep it synched regularly and keep your firmware up to date. Some of us like me have an older phone and don't want iOS5 yet, but I may try it soon to let you know how it goes.
Keep your software up to date. Check the iTunes store periodically and keep your Haypi Kingdom app updates downloaded. Bug repairs are released from time to time.
Also, if you are using iOS4 or higher, and especially if you're on an older phone, you should try not to let too many apps run in the background. They eat up RAM memory that Haypi could be using instead! Without free RAM, it will crash when it gets too clogged up. So double tap home and then hit the minus to shut down things you're not using any longer to free up phone memory.
Last but not least, close down Haypi and release it from memory just like the above every once in a while. It will prevent untimely crashes. Do it yourself when the time is good, lol.

Keeping things closed out of memory has drastically improved my game performance! Hope some of this helps you too!

From support about hunts

The hunt and harvest strategy may alter as we're always working to improve the algorithm. But these rules are always consistent:

The more troops you send to hunt and the faster the troops march, the better harvest you may get.
Theoretically, the longer you troops hunt, the better harvest you may get. If the troops hunt for over 8 hours, you may get extraordinary harvest.
The higher fortune points you have, the better harvest you may get.
If you hunt in an oasis which has just been hunted by another player, the possibility of harvest may be low. If you happen to hunt in an oasis which is untouched for long, the possibility of harvest may be high.

Note from Kuan

Hey all mate, how is going all of u? Pvp need a lot of time focus on the game, all is about the Time! Don let ur worker idle time, send then to work 24/7.
Remember,They won give sound alert when people attacking u!
I believe all of u finished upgrade ur building. And ready to warp 
Before u atk somebody, make sure some tech are upgrading,
Shooting skill- range is very important for cat, if opponent shooting skill is higher, they can wipe all ur cat with range advantage even ur have more cat and even u strike 1st. So must be careful.
Scouting skill,  pvp  hv a lot of dirty practice . Starving, cropping, so better scouting skill prevent people scout all ur detail and starve u.
Sub:
if u are defender and cost saver, try to build ur sub in south area, so people can't warp u ( they can't move there) also must near fort around u can farm.
So attacking player, don build sub near ur main, people can easily steal ur sub.  So make it far away. Sub just focus on main, warehouse, cranny, crop.
Army type
Cat army. Max ur shooting skill( range advantage) Attacking skill, marching skil ( warp more faster), lower chance if u warp by cat, people are very alert in pvp and give them enough time to warp
Attri focus on atk!
Cav army. Max ur atk and defense. Enhance to max horse and manual. Easy warp people. Higher chance
Attri, fucus on defense ( when u atk cat)
I prefer cav/cat ( I manage to keep 15k cav and 15k cat for last pvp)
Good luck and make sure u put ur army hunting before u off 

Pvp guide

1. Fight thru the lag
First day u will experience bad lags. But keep at it. Log in again n again to get the upgrades going. A Head start means everything.
2. Upgrades.
Select VIP.
Speed up main building n warehouse. Till they reach lvl 11. Then let it take the time to finish.
Max cranny. Try to get the crop lvl up high asap
3. Protection.
Get out of it asap. N start the second city. When u r out, u should have at least cranny maxed n crop level 11-12.  N 3-400 cat army. Keep resources below cranny level to discourage farming.
4. Crop n other oasis
I don\\\\'t keep any crop oasis if I\\\\'m just going for 300 coins. In that case, size of army I\\\\'ve kept was less than 2k cats. Enhance on the second day. Get resource oasis. If u keep crop oasis, u r asking to b an easy target for starving. U will b cropped. Know ur crop count. Expect the worst. So calculate how long it would take for ur troops to starve without any crop oasis n getting hit by someone with max break cranny. Come back before that time.
5. Techs
Max: scouting shooting marching.
High: attack n planting. Maybe defense if r cash rich. No turrets. Too expensive. Traps level 4-5 is enough. No resource techs should b upgraded.
6. Cities
Make as much as u r allowed.
Name the city the same. Pinners get confused if all ur cities names r same. Should have at least three cities with med to high crop production. Spread ur troops among the cities before going to sleep.
7. Cash n equipment
Wait till second or third day for equipment. Do not do trade with equipments to get cash.
On second day, the price of wood go up crazy. Put wood at the high price. I put batches worth 300k. For example, I put 1600 wood for 184.01. Total 300k golds. Have ppl or ur alt buy the batches giving u the cash for tech upgrades. Buy equipments with the cash n save coins for flying.
8. Battles
Come out of protection asap. Should start killing right away. I would stay put n kill everyone near u before flying.
Learn the block move.
Crop ppl later in the first week. Scout constantly.
Cropping: check ppl with many crop oasis. If the city has negative crop count even before cropping that\\\\'s the ideal target. If positive, I would wait a couple more days till he builds more troops. Crop at night.
During the first week crop right away since most ppl have low cranny n low crop count. But from the second week farm first n drop the crop count first then crop. When u crop someone, the crop count drops as u take crop oasis down. So starving is much faster.
9. Attribute points
Speed only till u reach 100 then attack.
Skill points. Max break cranny then heal/hidden. If u have coins to spare. I would do hidden for the first week then reset it to break cranny. For u will b flying much later in the game then hidden is not as critical. Later in the game, u will try to starve ppl so max cranny come in handy
10. Even after u wipe someone, b nice n gracious. They might end up helping u in the end. Many did for me. Lol
You need to bring all accts u have to the game. Ask ur friend to help u before it start. Have a game plan. With the above plan, getting 100 coins will b easy n 300 coins r not out of reach.
With some money spent, u could reach top 10.  Not giving up n pushing thru counts a lot too
Use this throughout your gameplay

Perfect Guide

To VIP or not to VIP.
If you started on day one I strongly suggest not to VIP. It\'s 15days meaning u got 2x 10coins to do 7day VIP = 14days... VIP on the second day because VIP or not, the first day you will run out of people to build with so why VIP on day 1??!!
Doing what first??...
Day1
Daily gift collect!
Assign skill points to speed (aim for 50 when u can then assign the rest to your type)
Chest/Heal/hidden/cranny/convince skills up to you, attackers tends to go for cranny/hidden defenders heal/convince.
And now build/tasks
Send letter, view ranking, join alliance
Warehouse
1 of each resource
Barracks
Cranny
1 troop
Hunt with1 troop
Occupy lvl0 oasis with 1 troop
Research trap then build one
When you\'ve almost run out of resource, collect a reward hopefully by now you\'ve got a warehouse that can store 2k res reward.
Upgrade main and warehouse only and use coins to speed up. More so on main so it can produce more people.
Speed up main upgrade with coins
Buy/collect rewards for resources
Wait till ppl builds up to up main then repeat till main is at lvl10+
( I stopped at 15/12 main/wh then went to sleep)
Day2
Add VIP if timer says 14 days left
Collect Daily gift
On build
Cranny
Barracks
Crops only!!
Inftry/cats only!!!
Build lvl2 traps
Buy resc with coins
Don\'t use coins to speed anything anymore by now you should be down to 200ish coins
Take crop resource oasis it will help sustain army..
Scout the area for remote places with lvl1 forts. Add to favourites. Cause u might wanna create new city there or move main.. I moved my main and built new cities close by. Easier to move armies and transport resource.
End of day2 I used another 100+ coins buying resource and moving city. But I had 200ish cats with 500ish inftry enough to start raiding lvl1s
Day 3
Is the same as day2 cranny must be maxed before upgrading to 3rd baron. Have enough troops to raid forts. So use day2 and 3 to up cranny/barracks/crop and traps... Whilest building troops.
Buy resource with coins, then sell in market, then buy treasure to upgrade! It\'s cheaper than using 10coins for a nugget. I\'ve never used coins to get treasure since everyone sells em cheap in pvp...
Day4 or / 3rd baron (day2 for me)
Good luck!! Depending on your style attackers start raiding others!
At this stage my city had main(17), warehouse(14), crop(10x4), other resource(2), cranny(20), barracks(10) traps(lvl2x15). And an army of 500ish/3/3/200ish... With 50-100coins left... All that can be doe in a day and half.. Depending how much coins you use!!
